Which San Antonio neighborhood or suburb is the best for young professionals?

I am 24 years old, single, and looking for a neighborhood with an active nightlife. I have been told to live near downtown, but since I have never been to San Antonio I could use some advise from Real Estate pros.

Young professionals are drawn to the loft conversions of the Blue Star Contemporary Art Center on the south side of Downtown San Antonio. Close to parks, malls and the River Walk this area is vibrant with visitors, residents and professionals.
