Castle Hills is a quiet, residential community which enjoys easy access to San Antonio International Airport, downtown, the River Walk and the Medical Center via Loop 410.

Located in the desirable north central portion of Bexar County, Castle Hills San Antonio is a peaceful bedroom community of beautiful homes, tree-lined streets and large lot sizes of ½ to 1 acre.

Castle Hills was originally settled by families who were attracted to the Olmos Creek and its plentiful water supply, although many Castle Hills’ families had ties to the oil industry.

Castle Hills has its own police, fire and public works departments. It also has several associations, including the Castle Hills Woman’s Club, the Castle Hills Homeowners Association and the Castle Hills Garden Club.

The Castle Hills Commons, located on Lemonwood Drive, provides the residents of Castle Hills San Antonio with a small green space. The Castle Hills Commons is also the site of the city’s Fourth of July celebration, the National Night Out and other community events.

Most retail establishments in Castle Hills are located along Military Highway. The city has over 600 medium to small businesses, including retail stores, restaurants, schools (both public and private), hair salons and other personal establishments.

Most of the homes in Castle Hills are single-family, ranch homes on large lots. Much of Castle Hills real estate was built in the early 1950s. Castle Hills homes for sale have a median price of $132,450.

Commute

Castle Hills San Antonio is conveniently located along Loop 410, thereby making the commute from Castle Hills to downtown San Antonio an easy one. Commute times typically take less than 10 minutes.

Schools: The two public schools located within Castle Hills are Castle Hills Elementary School (located outside Loop 410) and Jackson Keller Elementary School (located inside Loop 410).
